The story of The ÃœBER Sausage dates back to 1923 with the birth of Leo Karl Gschwend in the small town of Altstatten, Switzerland. Early in his life, he decided on a career of food and his dream of becoming a chef. After being trained as a chef in St. Gallen and Neuchatel, Switzerland, he came to the United States in 1950 to start a new life and bring his international talents to Colorado. Although he ran a successful fine dining restaurant and catering business, Leo's favorite meal was an often found European street food, a Swiss sausage, that he regularly prepared for his family and friends.
His Swiss sausage was comprised of a European sausage, fresh baguette, veggies and a family secret mix of herbs and spices. Starting in June of 2011, his grandson and two partners have decided to bring Leo's family secret to the masses.
In addition to the Swiss sausage, some other family favorites that will make the menu include: buffalo bratwurst, bison hotdogs, chicken apple sausage and charred Kielbasa. There will also be a delicious side of homemade style chips with do-it-yourself spices for those who are hungry!
The Ãœber Sausage restaurant and food truck brings the best of Switzerland to you, where we say, it's so good, it should be illegal
